Safeguarding checks carried out prior to supplying a worker to you.
- Verification of a candidate’s identity, preferably from current photographic ID and proof of address except where, for exceptional reasons, none is available;
- Obtaining a candidate’s full employment history and explanations for any gaps in employment;
- Obtaining and verifying two references.
- For permanent or temporary roles over 12 weeks, enhanced DBS check, or assist in allowing the school to perform checks.
- Verifying the person’s right to work in the UK following Home Office advice on the GOV.UK website, making any further checks the school or college considers appropriate;
- Conducting an online search to reveal any information that is publicly available online and which should be discussed during an interview.
