Account Manager

Job description

We are recruiting for Account Managers to join our client based in Swindon, Wiltshire.  This is working within a team of people who work hard but have fun doing it!  If you have account management/sales experience, particularly within the construction industry this could be the role for you.

You will be required to liaise with new and existing customers, identify specific material requirements and secure material schedules for generating quotations, this will include drawing take-off and reviewing of tender documentation (full training provided). Working with the team, you will be responsible for chasing and securing orders from these quotations and ensuring that orders are progressed in line with customer expectation.

Main Duties

You will be required to assist a small but dedicated team of individuals in providing quick and accurate advice to customers. The company deals with a number of customer types within the construction industry including, installers, merchants and homeowners.

The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide exceptional customer service levels including pricing, technical assistance and producing material schedules from customer drawings.

• Dealing with customer enquiries

• Drawing take-offs (training provided)

• Generating quotations

• Following up quotations and proactively calling customers working to KPIs and Monthly Targets

• Working with the team to target new customers and generate repeat business opportunities

• Answering the telephone

• Processing orders

 

Candidate Essential Skills/Requirements

You should have 2-3 years’ experience within a customer service/sales environment, be a practically minded individual with a technical approach would be beneficial and a willingness to learn about the company’s products and services offer is essential.

The successful candidate should have;

• Experience within a customer/sales focused environment

• Experience within the building/roofing industry is preferable, but not essential

• Have the ability to communicate well at all levels with excellent interpersonal skills

• Work in an organised and methodical manner

• Competent IT skills with experience of ERP systems (N.B. Training of the company’s ERP system will be provided)

• Good levels of numeracy & literacy

• Current driving license

 

Hours and Place of Work

  • You will be based at our Swindon office.
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 17.00pm – 30 minutes lunch break.
